I used this example of a first draft to illustrate the changes I would make to my own work. Not every manuscript needs this kind of heavy notation. Many of these notes I wouldn’t make for myself, I’d just make the changes as I go but it provides an idea of what you might see on your manuscript. You don’t want to hire an editor for your first draft – reserving that for your most polished work will net the strongest return on investment. My goal is to help you tell your story in the most meaningful way possible. All I’m doing is making suggestions. You’re the one deciding if they fit your larger idea.
